Scottish . biz . . . everything about Scotland

Scotland has a wealth of haunted castles, houses, hotels and graveyards. Here is one that you might like to visit . . . if you are brave enough!!

Haunted Place : Carbisdale Castle

Carbisdale Castle was built by the Duchess of Sutherland between 1905 and 1917 and is now used as a youth hostel. The castle has several ghosts. The appearances include a lady in white, fallen soldiers of the Battle of Carbisdale and the sounds of a piper.

The Hooded Gardener is said to roam the grounds looking for his lost daughter, he often haunts girls that are the same age as his own daughter (fifteen); he has been seen dressed in black with a black hood with only part of his face shown.

In the castle nursery (called the Spooky Room) furniture will often suddenly move and will sometimes rain drip from the ceiling – even on sunny days. Young children can be heard still playing their childish games in the hereafter.
