Hermitage Castle is located in the Scottish Borders and is so forbidding that only the bravest of ghosts dare make an appearance there.
Hermitage Castle

It was built by Nicholas de Soulis around 1240 and remained in his family until approximately 1320 when his descendant, William de Soulis, forfeited the castle on account of witchcraft and the attempted regicide of King Robert I of Scotland.
It is believed that William de Soulis, or Bad Lord Soulis as he was nicknames, kidnapped local children to use in vile experiments. Being a bit annoyed with this the local peasants trapped Lord Soulis and boiled him to death in one of his own witch’s cauldrons.
Scary Hermitage Castle

The castle is haunted by Bad Lord Soulis and many of his child victims. Visitors to the castle are often pushed by ghostly children as they play some macabre, everlasting game of dare.
