Information:
The Fife AC 50 Kilometre road
race takes place annually on the second Sunday in May.
It starts at the Fife
Institute of Physical and Recreational Education, Glenrothes
The race route is flat and mainly traffic free utilising pavements and cycle
tracks whenever possible. There is a height difference of three metres
between the highest and lowest points on the course. Competitors cover 14
laps on the course.
The Institute track is the hub of the race with drinks and feeding points
providing water, isotonic drinks, mars bars, bananas and jelly babies. The
lap recorders are also situated at the track.
The race has been the Scottish Athletics Federation Championships since it's
inception but welcomes "ultra newbies" as well as seasoned competitors.
These two fit runners were
probably not taking part in the Fife AC 50 Kilometre road race . . . pity!
