The Speyside Way 50km was last held in 2005. This race is being brought back
for 2010, but instead of finishing in Spey Bay, will continue on to the end
of the Speyside Way in Buckie town centre, making it a 35.5 mile ultra
event. The route follows the Speyside Way from Ballindalloch to the town
centre in Buckie. To accomplish the full distance a deviation off around 5km
commences on the descent from the forest track off Ben Aigen, to the east of
Boat O’ Brig. The track from Brigeton Farm is taken to the right, onto the
B9103, past the Distillery, and then next left onto a road through the Moss
of Cairnty. They Speyside Way is resumed on the Ordiequish road.
The race tends to
oversubscribe so get in quickly!!
